Join Michelle at YogaOne this month for our two special Ramadan classes. Michelle will be guiding two 90 minute sessions of Yin Yoga followed by Yoga Nidra on Sunday 12thand 19thMay at 5 pm. The classes will be a perfect complement to Ramadan practices with a focus on mindful reflection, connection and devotion.
The Yin yoga practice will be an introspective purification and renewal of the mind body and spirit.
Yin yoga poses will be held in supported stillness for extended periods to release and rejuvenate muscles, joints, deep connective tissue, and energy within the body. Mindful awareness of the breath will enhance focus and stillness of the mind to develop the internal witness and a deeper awareness of the spirit within.
Yoga Nidra is often referred to as yogic sleep. A guided relaxation technique will be used to induce complete physical, mental and emotional relaxation. Unlike meditation, during Yoga Nidra yogis lie on their backs. Within this deep state of relaxation contact with the subconscious and conscious mind occurs, creating a fertile mind to plant seeds of intention.
Michelle’s classes are soothing, nourishing and compassionate with a strong focus on bringing stillness and consciousness to the mind and body through the breath. The thing she loves about yoga the most is the stillness it brings to her mind and joy it brings into her life.
